September Favorites // 10 Random Things I'm Loving Right Now!

Hello, hello - happy Sunday! I am back with my my next monthly favorites post! I have to admit - I am extra excited for this one because it is all kinds of festive. I love holidays and fall is my absolute favorite season, so September is my second favorite month after October. Keep reading to see some of the things I have been loving lately!

1. September Wonder Apples
September Wonder apples are definitely my new favorite! I was on my way to work an NCAA volleyball match in Pennsylvania and passed so many cute little farmer’s markets, pumpkin patches, and orchards along the way. After finishing my match, I stopped at 2 farmer’s markets, 1 pumpkin patch, and 1 awesome apple orchard - Ridgetop Orchards. It was so cute, cozy, festive, had the nicest staff, and had the best apples! One of the staff members recommended that I try the September Wonder apples, and I’m so glad that I did. They are sweet, firm, and perfect for baking or just enjoying on their own!

2. “Hey Pumpkin!” Doormat
This doormat… it’s EVERYTHING! I got it from Kirkland’s and am obsessed with it. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns - especially for fall! I have gotten so many compliments on it from my neighbors and friends that come over to visit. It’s so colorful, inviting, and the hand lettering is just beautiful!

3. Cozy Pillows
I love, love, LOVE pillows and scored some really cute new ones! The large buffalo plaid pillows are from TJ Maxx and came together in a set of two. I’ve had the other two pillows in the first picture for a couple of years. I think they were gifts, so I don’t remember where exactly they are from. If I had to take a guess though, I would say they are from either Target or Michael’s! The buffalo plaid pumpkin pillow is from Target in their $1-$5 section. The ‘Happy Halloween’ pillow is from Kirkland’s and is probably my favorite out of them all. I have a weird obsession with old-fashioned trucks and knew I had to have this pillow as soon as I saw it! An old-fashioned truck filled with pumpkins and spooky bats flying around?! Umm, yes please! The ‘boo’ pillow in the second picture is another one that I have had for a while now.

4. Candles
Alright y’all. If you read my August Favorites post, then you know how obsessed I am with candles. And if not… well… I am very obsessed with candles. All of the candles I shared in my last favorites post were actually ones that I got during the the Bath and Body Works semi-annual sale in May. So, I had been burning them for a while and most of them were close to being gone - perfect timing to stock up on some new ones for fall! Fall candles are the BEST and most of my favorite scents are very fall-y. Pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, and vanilla are just a few of my favorites! I wish I could give you all a virtual scratch n sniff of these scents. They smell so, SO amazing and make every room of my apartment feel cozy and magical! Autumn is from Bath and Body Works, Smoked Pumpkin, Farmer’s Market, and Cozy Flannel and Salted Caramel are from Home Goods, and Falling Leaves and Pumpkin Bourbon are from TJ Maxx.

5. Festive Mugs
Not only am I a crazy candle lady, but I am also a crazy mug lady. I have quite the mug collection and love finding new, festive ones each year! I snagged these two cuties from TJ Maxx and am totally in love with them. The ‘Hey Boo’ mug stole my heart immediately. I mean, come on… how cute is it?! VERY CUTE. That’s the answer. The ‘Power Couple’ one is so creative (and true… pumpkin spice rules all) and the bottom of the mug on the inside says ‘pumpkin spice and everything nice.’ I’m so in love.

6. Wooden End Table
I feel like the best finds always happen unexpectedly… and this amazing wooden end table is living proof of that. I was at Ross looking for a dress for my white coat ceremony and found this absolutely beautiful wooden end table for 20 bucks! I had been wanting an end table for next to my couch for a while, but hadn’t found one that I loved or a nice one that wasn’t ridiculously expensive. I love the chevron pattern and think this beautiful table will go perfectly with any theme!

7. Succulent Wall Art
I found this beautiful wall art at Home Goods and it is the perfect piece for my living room! It is from Marmont Hill, which has some of the most beautiful yet simplistic art work I have ever seen. Their pieces are much more expensive on their website, so it is always nice to find such high quality art work at lower prices in stores like Home Goods.

8. Adidas ‘Swift Run’ Sneakers
I am an NCAA and USA volleyball referee and all white shoes are a part of our uniform. I previously was wearing the Nike Presto Fly sneakers which I really really loved. However, I had them for a couple years and they were starting to get pretty beat up. So, it was time to upgrade to a shmancy new pair! I treated myself to these new Adidas shoes and they were a pretty exciting purchase. I work for a number of high-level NCAA DI conferences, so I have to be extra sharp and spiffy from head to toe. These sneakers are helping me do just that. They’re probably the comfiest pair of shoes I’ve ever owned, too!

9. Music
This is some of the music I am loving right now. My ‘Cozy Fall Days’ playlist on Spotify is my go-to playlist and I’ve been listening to it just about all day every day. All of the songs on this playlist embody the cozy vibes that I want to listen to on a crisp fall day while studying, sipping coffee on my balcony, or just chillin. I’ve also included my top favorite songs that I just cannot seem to stop playing on repeat!

10. Therapeutic Outcomes App for iPhone
This app is incredible and I highly recommend downloading it if you are a PT or OT student! It is $4.99, which I think is an extremely savvy and unbeatable price to pay for such a powerful tool. I am currently in the first semester of my second year of PT school. One of my classes this semester is Adult Neurotherapeutics, in which we are learning how to treat neurological injuries such as Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and vestibular disorders. This app is a very handy tool that has a number of widely used/evidence-based outcome measures available right on your phone. It includes an overview of the outcome measure, how it varies for different populations/diagnoses, the set-up/items required to perform it, instructions for the patient, scoring scales, cut-off scores, minimal detectable changes, a timer (if needed), and more! I have a unique clinical experience this semester, where I spend the first half of the day in inpatient acute care at a level II trauma hospital and the second half of the day in outpatient care at a pro bono medical clinic. I have been able to utilize this amazing app in both settings and cannot recommend it enough!
