It’s official - Alyssa and Isaiah are engaged! This stunning couple met during their freshman year of college in November of 2016 at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa and have shared a beautiful love story ever since.
This past week, they came to Richmond, VA to visit Isaiah’s family (Isaiah is my best friend Charisma’s little brother). Along with their dad and other two brothers, their family had a huge 50th birthday surprise planned for their mom, Katrina. Family came in to town from all up and down the east coast, as well as all the way from Oregon to surprise Katrina! On Saturday, June 8th, the surprise birthday dinner took place at an awesome Italian restaurant in Mechanicsville, VA. Katrina was completely surprised and we had so much fun celebrating her. But little did Alyssa know, a huge, exciting surprise would be in store for her the next day, too!
On Sunday, the festivities continued and we continued to celebrate Katrina at a family barbecue, as well as some other family members who have birthdays in June (which included Alyssa!!) At the end of the birthday recognitions, Isaiah took the stage by starting with, “As you all know, Alyssa and I have been dating for a while now…” and we all went nuts when we realized what was about to happen! There were screams, tears, and an abundance of excitement as we all realized Isaiah was about to get down on one knee and ask the woman of his dreams to spend the rest of her life with him. Isaiah proposed with the most gorgeous ring ever and SHE SAID YES! He was so happy that all of his family - including his parents, brothers, and sister - got to be a part of this special day in his and Alyssa’s lives. It’s all about family!
The next day, we went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond to capture this special time for Alyssa and Isaiah. I snapped the photographs while Charisma and Cole of Roll with Cole and Charisma recorded/vlogged the fun. The gardens were gorgeous, Alyssa and Isaiah looked so amazing, and we all had an absolute blast. Congratulations Alyssa and Isaiah - everyone is so happy for you and we are so excited to see your love story continue to unfold!
